Lieutenant General Sir Wilbraham Lennox VC KCB, Corps of Royal Engineers, was buried in the Woodvale Cemetery, Lewes Road, Brighton, in 1897 with an impressive triple stone base and cross erected over his grave. Over the years both the headstone and burial plot had badly detiorated, the large granite cross having toppled off its base.

Local man Steve Davies had known about the state of the Lennox grave for over three years but only recently had been given permission to renovate the grave and re-erect the cross back on its base, which weighs nine tons.

The general state of Wilbraham Lennox's grave has now been rectified by a complete refurbishment of the plot, the triple stone base and stone cross being extensively cleaned to a high degree and the cross reassembled onto the base using a JCB.
